Agree Realty Corp. (NYSE: ADC) named Karen Dearing to its board, where she will serve as a member of the audit committee. Dearing currently serves as the CFO, secretary, treasurer, and EVP of Sun Communities, Inc. (NYSE: SUI), a position she has held since 2008.
AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB) said Benjamin Schall has been appointed president and will join the board of directors on or before Feb. 1. Timothy Naughton, chairman, CEO, and president, and former Nareit chair, plans to retire as CEO at the end of 2021. At that time, Schall will be appointed CEO and Naughton will remain on the board as executive chair. Schall will be joining AvalonBay from his position as CEO and president of Seritage Growth Properties (NYSE: SRG).
Columbia Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: CXP) announced that Connie Moore has been appointed as chair of its board of directors. Moore has over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, most recently serving as president, CEO, and a board member of BRE Properties.
Cousins Properties (NYSE: CUZ) promoted Kennedy Hicks to the role of EVP-investments. Hicks joined Cousins in November 2018 as SVP responsible for investments. In July 2020, Hicks was also named managing director of the Atlanta market, overseeing the operations for the company’s seven million square feet within the city.
Getty Realty Corp. (NYSE:GTY) announced the appointment of Brian Dickman as EVP, CFO, and treasurer. Dickman succeeds Danion Fielding, who resigned for personal reasons. Dickman joined Getty from his previous role as EVP and CFO of Seritage Growth Properties (NYSE:SRG).
David O’Reilly was named CEO of The Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC), after serving as interim CEO since September 2020. Promoted to president in June 2020, O’Reilly joined the company in 2016 as CFO, and will continue in that role while a search is conducted for a permanent successor. Meanwhile, L. Jay Cross, the former president of Related Hudson Yards, has joined the company as its new president.
National Retail Properties, Inc. (NYSE: NNN) announced that Paul Bayer, EVP and chief investment officer, retired at the end of 2020. Bayer joined the company in 1999 and will continue to provide consulting services to the company for a period of one year after his retirement.
PotlatchDeltic Corp. (NASDAQ: PCH) appointed Eric Cremers as president and CEO. Cremers previously served as the company’s president and COO. Michael Covey, who joined the company in 2006 as president and CEO, and who served as chairman and chief executive officer from 2007, will continue in his role as a director, serving as executive chairperson of the board of directors.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (Euronext: URW) named Jean-Marie Tritant as group CEO and chairman of the management board, replacing Christophe Cuvillier. Tritant resigned as chairman of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and was replaced by Dominic Lowe, who was also named COO for the U.S., effective Nov. 19, 2020.
Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT) announced the promotion of Laurie Baker to executive vice president of operations. She previously served as senior vice president of fund and asset management. Camden also promoted Allison Dunavant to vice president of business initiatives. She previously served as the director of learning and development at Camden.
Community Development Trust elected Andrew Ditton as chairman of its board. Ditton is currently managing director and head of CRA strategy and business execution at Citi. Prior to that role, he served as managing director and co-head of Citi Community Capital. In addition, he previously served as managing member of Davis/Ditton LLC, an affordable housing development and syndication business in Chicago.
Steven Schnur has been promoted to executive vice president and COO at Duke Realty Corp. (NYSE: DRE). He has been with Duke Realty since 2003 when he joined the company’s Chicago office as vice president of leasing.
Essex Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESS) announced the planned retirement of Craig Zimmerman, its executive vice president and co-chief investment officer, effective Dec. 31. Adam Berry, who is currently co-chief investment officer, will succeed Zimmerman as chief investment officer. Berry joined Essex in 2003 in its acquisitions department.
Healthcare Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE:HR) announced that David Emery, chairman emeritus and director, died at the age of 75. Emery led the team that founded Healthcare Realty in 1992 and oversaw its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 1993.
Daniel Goodwin, chairman of the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, was honored at Nareit’s Public Non-Listed REIT (PNLR) Council meeting for being the founding chair of the council’s executive committee from its council’s creation in 2011 through the end of 2018. Nareit President and CEO Steve Wechsler presented the award.
New Senior Investment Group Inc. (NYSEMKT: SNR) appointed Lori Marino as executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary. Most recently, she was vice president, deputy general counsel and corporate secretary for ITT Inc., a global multi-industrial manufacturer. The company also said that David Smith resigned as executive vice president and CFO to accept another business opportunity.
Phillips Edison & Company, Inc. hired Brian Gibson as senior vice president of finance. Gibson joins PECO from WORLDPAY (now Fidelity National Information Services, Inc.). PECO also announced the promotion of K.C. Bills to vice president of portfolio management and development.
Michele Tyler was named vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary at PotlatchDeltic Corp. (NASDAQ: PCH). Tyler was most recently the senior vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at Vectrus, Inc.
Saul Centers, Inc. (NYSE: BFS) said J. Page Lansdale resigned as president and COO. B. F. Saul II was named president. In addition, the company promoted Christopher Netter, Scott Schneider and D. Todd Pearson to the position of executive vice president.

Welltower Inc. (NYSE: WELL) named Tim McHugh senior vice president and CFO. McHugh has been with the company since 2016 and most recently served as senior vice president, corporate finance.
