Understanding the GICS Classification of Real Estate
In 2016, S&P Dow Jones Indices and MSCI will reclassify and elevate stock-exchange listed real estate companies (including listed equity REITs) from under the Financials Sector to a new 11th headline Real Estate Sector in the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®).
