Nareit’s newly released 2021 Compensation Survey contains comprehensive data for more than 200 job titles commonly found at REITs and REOCs, including information on base salaries, annual incentive award values, and long-term incentive values.

Nareit and Ferguson Partners captured data from 122 REITs representing approximately 60% of the U.S. listed equity REIT industry’s equity market capitalization.

The majority of survey respondents said they were planning to increase the size of their workforce in 2021. The pandemic has presented challenges for some employers though, particularly relating to retention and recruitment of talent of junior- and mid-level positions.

The survey is designed to help real estate companies benchmark their compensation packages with competitors and gain insights into the latest market shifts and developments regarding compensation levels, department sizes and organizational structures.
