Equity Residential Ringing the Bell


In celebration of the 30th anniversary of its listing, Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR) rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Sept. 28.

Helen Zell, widow of Sam Zell, the founder and chairman of Equity Residential who died in May at age 81, joined Equity Residential executives, including President and CEO Mark Parrell and former CEO and current board chairman David Neithercut, for the occasion.

Equity Residential is a member of the S&P 500, focusing on the acquisition, development and management of residential properties located in and around dynamic cities that attract affluent long-term renters.

Equity Residential owns or has investments in 305 properties consisting of 80,505 apartment units, with an established presence in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Seattle, San Francisco and Southern California, and an expanding presence in Denver, Atlanta, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Austin.
