NAREIT President & CEO Steve Wechsler and Executive Vice President for Research and Investor Outreach Mike Grupe led a series of meetings and working sessions in London on Sept. 7-8 with NAREIT’s global index partners, FTSE Russell and EPRA.
The FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global Real Estate Index Series helps to draw capital to listed REITs and real estate companies around the world. Sharing information and experience among the partners and making product improvements to meet client expectations are vital to ensure the competitive position of the indexes.
The index partners meeting focused on marketing, new product developments, reviewing client feedback, and identifying and discussing longer-term strategic opportunities.
In addition, NAREIT and EPRA convened a working session focused on enhancing the coordination, collaboration and transparency of the index constituent screening process used for the FTSE EPRA/ NAREIT Global Real Estate Series. The enhanced coordination will also be required to meet growing regulatory and governance compliance requirements for all investment-related indexes.
