Barclay's Capital's Schecky Schechner on the commercial real estate capital markets.

Schecky Schechner, managing director and head of U.S. real estate investment banking for Barclays Capital, joins NAREIT editorial director Allen Kenney for a podcast to discuss some of the latest trends and developments in the capital markets for REITs and the commercial real estate industry.

Schechner offered his thoughts on the state of the market for commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS).

"We're hitting post-crash peaks in terms of issuance," he said. "There are a lot of transactions coming, and we expect this year to be a high-water mark since the crash."
