Owen Thomas, CEO of BXP (NYSE: BXP), participated in a video interview in conjunction with Nareit’s REITweek: 2022 Investor Conference in New York on June 7-9.
Thomas discussed BXP’s commitment to sustainability, noting that “all of the constituencies that we care about, care about sustainability.” That encompasses BXP’s clients, capital providers, communities, and employees, he said.
Thomas also discussed BXP’s presence in Seattle, a market that the REIT entered in 2021 and where it now owns two major buildings.
As for reasons to invest in BXP today, Thomas highlighted that “having quality buildings has never been more important,” given the prevalence of virtual work and employer efforts to bring staff back to the workplace. “That’s what our strategy has always been about.”
Meanwhile, Thomas noted that BXP is forecasting FFO per share growth of over 13% this year. The REIT also has a significant development pipeline, is seeing increasing occupancy, and presents a valuation opportunity for investors, he added.
