American Tower Corp. (NYSE: AMT) has named Tom Bartlett to succeed Jim Taiclet as president and CEO, effective immediately.

Bartlett has served as American Tower’s executive vice president and CFO for over ten years, joining the company from Verizon Communications, Inc. in 2009 after a career there of more than 25 years.

Taiclet joined American Tower in 2001 as president and COO and became CEO and chairman in 2003. He will continue as executive chairman until the 2020 annual meeting.

Following his departure, Taiclet, who currently serves on the board of Lockheed Martin, will become its president and CEO.

Meanwhile, Rod Smith, American Tower’s current senior vice president, corporate finance, and treasurer, will become executive vice president, CFO, and treasurer. Smith has been with American Tower for more than ten years.
