Camden Property Trust (NYSE:CPT) announced the retirement from an executive capacity of D. Keith Oden, co-founder of the company. Oden will remain a member of the board of trust managers. This is the final step in the REIT’s multi-year successful succession process which has seen the promotion of several long-standing team members. Ric Campo, co-founder of Camden, will continue to serve as executive chairman of the board.
Chiron Real Estate Inc. (NYSE: XRN) appointed Matthew Whitlock as chief investment officer. Whitlock joins Chiron from Berkshire Residential Investments, where he served as managing director and chief investment officer of senior housing investments. “Matthew has spent three decades in senior housing and has built deep relationships with many of the leading owners, operators, developers, and capital providers across the industry,” said Chiron President and CEO Mark Decker, Jr.
Extra Space Storage Inc. (NYSE: EXR) announced that Noah Springer, president, will become the company's next CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2027. Current CEO Joe Margolis will retire at the end of the year and serve as an adviser to Extra Space Storage's board of directors. The transition follows a thoughtful, long-term succession planning process. “Noah Springer is ideally prepared and fully ready to lead the company into the next chapter of its 50-year story of growth and success,” Margolis said. Springer joined Extra Space in 2006 and became chief strategy and partnership officer in 2020.
Invitation Homes Inc. (NYSE: INVH) reported several leadership changes. Peter DiLello is now executive vice president, investment management group. He has been with the company since its earliest days and has been instrumental in its growth and evolution. Bill Tierney is now executive vice president, chief experience officer. Since joining Invitation Homes in 2025, Tierney has played a pivotal role in enhancing operational excellence, according to the company. “These leaders are positioned to continue advancing our strategy, enhancing the resident experience, and creating long-term value for shareholders,” said President and CEO Dallas Tanner.
Invitation Homes also announced that James Curl will join the company as executive vice president and chief technology officer on Sept. 8. He joins Invitation Homes from Xome, a Rocket Companies subsidiary, where he has served as chief technology officer since 2022.
Kilroy Realty Corp. (NYSE: KRC) said Jeffrey Kuehling left the company. In connection with his departure, Eliott Trencher has assumed the roles of CFO and treasurer on an interim basis.
Kite Realty Group (NYSE: KRG) announced the appointment of Cooper Clark as vice president, capital markets & investor relations. Clark joins KRG following seven years on the sell-side covering REITs, most recently serving as vice president and lead analyst covering the retail & lodging REIT sectors in equity research at Wells Fargo Securities.
NNN REIT, Inc. (NYSE: NNN) said Christina Chiu and Charles “Chaz” Mueller, Jr. will join its board of directors, effective Oct. 1. These strategic additions are part of the company’s staged board succession planning in preparation for Betsy Holden’s planned retirement from the board on Feb.19, 2027. Chiu is currently the president of Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESRT). Mueller is a member of the board of trustees of Vivmark Residential (NYSE: VMRK) and previously served as CEO of Progress Residential until his retirement in 2021.
Public Storage (NYSE: PSA) appointed Wade Sheek as its new chief legal officer. Public Storage said Sheek brings more than 25 years of executive legal leadership, with extensive experience advising executive teams and boards of directors on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, SEC matters, enterprise risk management, compliance, and strategic business initiatives. “Wade’s experience leading legal organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and complex transactions will be invaluable as we continue to execute our long-term strategy,” CEO Tom Boyle said.
Sun Communities, Inc. (NYSE: SUI) said Robert “Bob” Garechana will join the company as executive vice president and CFO, effective Sept. 8, succeeding Fernando Castro-Caratini, who will transition to an advisory role with the company. Garechana brings over two decades of REIT finance experience to Sun, joining from multifamily REIT Equity Residential (now Vivmark Residential), where he served as executive vice president and chief investment officer since 2025.
