AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB) said Conor Flynn, CEO of Kimco Realty (NYSE: KIM), has been appointed to the board of directors. Flynn will serve as an independent director of the company.

Kathleen McCarthy Baldwin, global co-head of real estate at Blackstone, said she will be leaving her role after 15 years with the company. “I’ll remain focused where Blackstone needs me through year-end. I'm looking forward to some family time and travel over the holidays before turning to new challenges that lie ahead,” McCarthy Baldwin said on a LinkedIn post.

Brixmor Property Group Inc. (NYSE: BRX) said James Taylor Jr., the company's CEO, will retire effective Jan. 1, 2026.  Brian Finnegan, the company's president and COO, who has been serving as interim CEO, has been appointed to succeed Taylor as CEO effective on that date. Finnegan will also replace Taylor on the board of directors and will retain the title of president. "It has been a privilege to serve as CEO of Brixmor since 2016, and I am proud of the significant accomplishments of the Brixmor team in transforming our portfolio and platform over that time. I am also grateful to the board for their ongoing support and partnership," Taylor said.

Easterly Government Properties, Inc. (NYSE: DEA) said Nick Nimerala has been promoted to executive vice president, portfolio and asset management. “Nick's expertise in managing critical relationships with the GSA and keen operational sense have contributed to the growth and success of the asset management team and the company as a whole,” the REIT said.

Equinix. Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX) named Yang Song as senior vice president, chief data science and AI officer. Song has more than two decades of experience in driving AI innovation at Apple and IBM Research, and in academia, the REIT said.

Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE:FRT) announced the appointment of Joseph Fisher to its board of trustees, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Fisher will serve on the board's audit and compensation and human capital management committees. Fisher spent nearly a decade in senior leadership at UDR, Inc. (NYSE: UDR).

Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc. (NYSE: SHO) said Michael Barnello has been appointed to the board of directors. He previously served as president and CEO of LaSalle Hotel Properties.

Terreno Realty Corp. (NYSE: TRNO) announced the addition of Paul Donahue, Jr. as an independent director. Donahue is managing partner and co-founder of Black Squirrel Partners, a growth equity and content platform. He retired from Morgan Stanley in 2020 after a 32-year career serving most recently as head of Americas equity capital markets and chairman of the equity underwriting committee.

Ventas, Inc. (NYSE: VTR) reported that Peter Bulgarelli, executive vice president, outpatient medical and research and CEO of Lillibridge Healthcare Services, informed the company of his intention to retire on May 1, 2026.

Weyerhaeuser (NYSE: WY) named Richard "Rick" Beckwitt, former president and CEO of Lennar Corp. to its board of directors.
