Ethan Gilbert, director of ESG at Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD), participated in a video interview in conjunction with Nareit’s ESG JumpStart Workshop: 2022 Webinar Series.
Gilbert discussed what is meant by a resilience strategy and how companies can begin to address the various issues that are involved. He also noted that Prologis addresses resilience from a financial, reputational, and operational perspective.
“From a resiliency strategy point of view, it really begins with having strong oversight at the top. From there you integrate it into the various things that you do,” Gilbert said.
Gilbert also noted that the opportunity for further innovation can come from looking at how ESG can complement a company’s existing resilience strategy. Sustainability “is all about resilience, about being a long-term business,” he said.
