REITs rose last week with a 2.6% total return on the FTSE Nareit All Equity REITs Index. These latest gains, the fourth straight weekly increase, lifted year-to-date returns to 13.5%.
There were increases across the board last week, with every property sector reporting gains. Timber REITs posted a 5.0% gain, the largest return among property sectors, followed by infrastructure (3.5%), self storage (3.3%), data centers (3.2%), and specialty REITs (3.1%).
Both home financing mREITs and commercial financing mREITs rose as well, with total returns of 0.8% and 2.7%, respectively.
