WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 9, 2025) – During its REITworld: 2025 Annual Conference, Nareit announced the recipients of its industry leadership and achievement awards.
The Nareit 2025 Industry Leadership Award went to Thomas J. Baltimore, Jr., chairman, president, and CEO of Park Hotels & Resorts, and Nareit’s 2018 chair.
When naming Baltimore as the recipient, Conor C. Flynn, CEO of Kimco Realty Corporation, and Nareit’s 2025 chair, highlighted his significant contributions to the lodging sector and the broader REIT community.
“Tom has been an influential voice in the industry for decades, working to shape and elevate the lodging sector,” Flynn said. “As chairman, president, and CEO of Park Hotels & Resorts and during his time as Nareit chair in 2018, he has led with focus, integrity, and an unwavering belief in perseverance and teamwork. His thoughtful leadership and dedication to the broader industry make him a worthy recipient of this honor.”
Nareit gives its annual Industry Leadership Award to a REIT executive who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the growth and betterment of the industry. The award is presented in memory of Edward H. Linde, the late CEO of BXP, formerly Boston Properties.
The Nareit 2025 Industry Achievement Award went to William J. Ferguson, co-chairman and CEO of Ferguson Partners.
In announcing Ferguson as this year’s award recipient, Sumit Roy, president and CEO of Realty Income Corporation and Nareit’s 2026 chair, underscored his influence on the REIT industry.
“Bill has been one of the most trusted advisors in the industry, helping shape the leadership and governance of companies across the REIT landscape,” Roy said. “Through his work at Ferguson Partners, he has guided organizations through transformation and growth, offering deep insights into the talent and trends driving our industry. His integrity, dedication, and focus on cultivating leaders has left a lasting impact on the REIT community.”
The Nareit Industry Achievement Award is given annually to professionals serving the REIT industry whose knowledge and integrity have helped heighten awareness and understanding of the value of REITs and publicly traded real estate. The award is presented in memory of E. Lawrence Miller, the former CEO of one of the industry’s first REITs, Bradley Real Estate Trust.
