Pierzak delivered guest lectures at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School and Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business, where he was invited by faculty. His presentations covered a wide range of topics, including the fundamentals of REITs, operational performance, balance sheet trends, sector evolution, and historical performance relative to other asset classes. He also explored key themes shaping the market today, including valuation divergences between REITs and broader equities, as well as between public and private real estate.

At both institutions, Pierzak emphasized how these divergences can create opportunities for investors, particularly as market dislocations begin to normalize. He also walked through real-world case studies and active management strategies, providing students with practical frameworks for evaluating REIT investments.

Building on these academic engagements, Pierzak participated in a University of Cincinnati Real Estate Center roundtable, where industry professionals and academics discussed the evolving REIT landscape. The conversation highlighted how market uncertainty, including geopolitical factors, can influence REIT performance, while reinforcing the sector’s long-term fundamentals and role within diversified portfolios.

Together, these engagements reflect Nareit’s ongoing commitment to education and industry outreach, helping to connect the next generation of real estate professionals with timely insights and real-world expertise.
