Nareit joined the leadership of the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) and FTSE Russell to mark 15 years of partnership in producing the FTSE EPRA/Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series by participating in the London Stock Exchange market open ceremony on Feb. 14, 2020.
Nareit President and CEO Steve Wechsler joined Dominique Moerenhout, CEO of EPRA, and Waqas Samad, CEO of FTSE Russell and Group Director of the Information Services Division of the London Stock Exchange Group, in opening the stock exchange.
In addition to the anniversary celebration, Nareit, EPRA, and FTSE Russell leadership had a series of productive discussions covering the future of the indexes, new product development opportunities, and increasing joint marketing and promotion activities.
The FTSE EPRA/Nareit Global Real Estate Index Series covers the world’s largest investment markets and includes a variety of regional and country indices, capped indices, dividend indices, global sector indices, and REIT and non-REIT indices. The index series has grown to become the dominant benchmark for listed REITs and property companies worldwide. The FTSE EPRA/Nareit Global Real Estate Index, the broadest index of global stock exchange-listed REITs and property companies in both developed and emerging countries, included 477 constituents with a combined float-adjusted equity market capitalization of $1.8 trillion.
