In September, NAREIT's Investor Outreach team met with 83 investment organizations controlling close to $8 trillion in assets.
The meetings included 12 with pension, endowment, and sovereign wealth funds; 12 with investment consultants; 41 with investment managers; and 18 with organizations and associations active in supporting the global pension and retirement industry.
Sixteen of the meetings were with foreign investment organizations that collectively control more than $2 trillion in institutional investment capital.
Also, Meredith Despins, NAREIT vice president of investment affairs and investor education, attended the annual conference of the European Real Estate Association (EPRA) in Berlin as part of NAREIT’s global outreach initiative.
NAREIT’s outreach program provides an important opportunity to communicate the benefits of including publicly traded real estate, and U.S. REITs in particular, within global investment portfolios.
