As an extension of Nareit’s CEO Forum & Advocacy Day, which took place on March 1-2, Nareit's 2022 Chair Marguerite Nader, CEO, Equity LifeStyle Properties (NYSE: ELS) met with several Congressional leaders on Capitol Hill last week to discuss the issues currently facing REITs and the real estate investment community in the 117th Congress.
The meetings, which included discussions with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), are an important way to underline the benefits of REITs to the overall economy and in the communities in which they operate.
Each year, Nareit’s CEO Forum & Advocacy Day provides Nareit members with the opportunity to interact with key policymakers from both houses of Congress and across the political aisle.
