REITs in the Community: Valadao visits GGP

Feb. 23 2018—Rep. David Valadao (R-CA), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, visited the Valley Plaza mall in Bakersfield, CA that is owned and operated by General Growth Properties (NYSE: GGP). After a brief tour of the property, Rep. Valadao was briefed on several items of interest to the REIT industry currently in Congress, including the Marketplace Fairness Act. Rep. Valadao was hosted by Kevin Berry, GGP’s EVP human resources and communications; John Ross, Valley Mall operations manager; and John Baker, Valley Mall general manager.
