REITs Recognized for Positive Workplace Environments

Four REITs have been recognized for their positive workplace environments by Fortune, in conjunction with research and consulting firm Great Place to Work, and recruitment site Glassdoor.

Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT) and CyrusOne (NASDAQ: CONE) were named to the Best Workplaces for Diversity list, compiled by Fortune and Great Place to Work and representing anonymous survey feedback from more than 4.4 million U.S. employees.

“We are honored to be recognized again by Great Place to Work and Fortune for providing an exceptional work environment for our team members,” said Keith Oden, president of Camden Property Trust.

Meanwhile, AvalonBay Communities, Inc. (NYSE: AVB) and Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR) were recognized with a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award, recognizing the companies as among the 100 Best Places to Work in 2019 among all large U.S. companies.

“We are honored to be recognized among the top 100 Best Places to Work for the second consecutive year,” said Tim Naughton, AvalonBay chairman and CEO. “We have long believed in the importance of creating a workplace culture that attracts and retains the best talent. It’s very gratifying to know that our associates think so highly about the company and share that with others on Glassdoor.”

Mark Parrell, Equity Residential’s president and CEO-designate, noted that the recognition "is driven by feedback from our employees and reflects the work that we do every day to create a culture and work environment that help employees thrive, grow, and enjoy the ride along the way.”

The Employees’ Choice Awards program, now in its 11th year, is based on the input of employees, who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environments, and companies on the Glassdoor site.
