Haendel St. Juste, equity research analyst with Morgan Stanley, joins the NAREIT Podcast to discuss the impact of developments in monetary policy on the REIT market.
"It's pretty clear that the past couple years of slow but steady economic growth and low interest rates have proven to be a near idyllic backdrop for REITs," he said. "The sector has outperformed the S&P 500 in each of the past three years and in four out of the last five. Low borrowing costs have proved a boon to income statements from a cost of financing perspective as well as a boon to asset values."
