Natalie Teear, vice president–sustainability and social impact of Hudson Pacific Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HPP), participated in a video interview in conjunction with Nareit’s ESG JumpStart Workshop: 2021 Webinar Series.
Teear discussed:
- Essential social issues that REITs should be focusing on today;
- Easy ways to measure the “S” of ESG for REITs just getting started with social initiatives in 2021; and
- Best practices for stakeholder engagement when it comes to social issues and REITs.
“Health and safety was a top priority for just about everyone [in 2020], certainly all real estate owners,” Teear said. “Also, diversity, equity, and inclusion—issues of racial justice and inequity—[are] very top of mind, very important.”
