Robert Meyer, Jr., senior vice president and corporate controller at American Tower Corp. (NYSE: AMT), participated in a video interview at Nareit’s REITwise: 2019 Law, Accounting & Finance Conference in San Antonio.

Meyer participated on a REITwise panel that focused on analytics and cyber security. He noted that the view of many on the panel was that employees present the biggest risk to enterprise management, making training and awareness a key issue to focus on. “Often the easiest point of attack is through employees and phishing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Meyer urged REITs to know where their vulnerabilities to cyberattack lie, and to have a response plan already in place. He also discussed how American Tower is leveraging artificial intelligence to make better business decisions.
