Gary Wojtaszek, president and CEO of CyrusOne Inc. (Nasdaq: CONE), joined Nareit in New York for a video interview at REITweek: 2019 Investor Conference.

Wojtaszek commented on the opportunities 5G presents for data centers like CyrusOne.

“Ultimately, anything that creates more data is going to end up helping us…networking speeds increasing 35-fold should translate into increased demand for us for the next decade or so,” he said.

Turning to its development pipeline, Wojtaszek said the REIT has “pretty aggressive” plans underway in nearly every market where it operates in the U.S., as well as in Dublin, Amsterdam, London, and Frankfurt. “Generally speaking, we’re seeing much stronger demand in Europe right now, relative to U.S. markets.”

Wojtaszek also talked about the company’s relationship with China’s GDS. He noted that “once the trade issues get worked out, which I think they will, we’re going to continue to see our business grow nicely.”
