Conor Flynn, CEO of Kimco Realty Corp. (NYSE: KIM), participated in a video interview at Nareit’s REITworld: 2019 Annual Conference in Los Angeles.
Kimco was recently named a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Flynn said Kimco has been leading on ESG issues for “10-plus years and [we] have put in place practices that can elevate the organization in each category.”
Flynn also discussed Kimco’s new 26-story, 440-unit residential tower, The Witmer, in Arlington, Virginia. It is directly across the street from the new Amazon headquarters, known as HQ2. He noted that the tower is over 80% leased, even before Amazon has started construction. “We think that Amazon will drive significant demand so our project will be really well positioned to outperform over the long haul,” he said.
