Annual Awards Recognize Best in Investor Communications Among REITs

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 7, 2022) – Nareit announced the recipients of the 2022 Investor CARE Awards during its REITweek Investor Conference (June 7–9, 2022). These annual awards recognize Nareit corporate members that most effectively and efficiently communicate with investors through comprehensive, clearly articulated, and useful information. All Nareit members—both equity and mREITs—are evaluated based on their online presence, SEC filings, and investor relations practices. A panel of judges, which includes analysts and portfolio managers from the buyside and sellside, select the winners.

This year’s award winners by category include:

Large Cap Equity REIT:

  • Gold: Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD)
  • Silver: Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. (NYSE: ARE)
  • Bronze: Welltower Inc. (NASDAQ: WELL)

Small Cap Equity REIT:

  • Gold: Essential Properties Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: EPRT)
  • Silver: Acadia Realty Trust (NYSE: AKR)


  • Gold: Blackstone Mortgage Trust, Inc. (Nasdaq: BXMT)

“The 14th Annual Investor CARE Awards honor Nareit members that exemplify the traits of financial transparency and accessibility, which are hallmarks of the REIT industry,” said Nareit President and CEO Steven A. Wechsler. “The investor communications programs recognized by this year’s awards embody these qualities and we congratulate them on their achievements.”

This year’s Investor CARE Award judges included: Keven Lindemann, Imran Tahir, Will McDowell, and Ana Lai of S&P Global Market Intelligence; David Barden of Bank of America; Daniel Ismail of Green Street; Steven Brown of American Century Investments; Grant Jackson of Invesco; Bruce Garrison, Matthew Werner, and Tom Murphy of Chilton Capital Management; Paul E. Adornato of NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate; Sheila McGrath of Evercore ISI; and Merrie Frankel of Minerva Realty Consultants, among others.
