Climate Week NYC 2025 took place Sept. 21-28, with more than 900 events and activities, making it the largest annual climate event of its kind. Nareit member REITs hosted events, joined in panels, and gathered with their sustainability teams during this week-long event that coincides with the UN General Assembly in New York City each year.
Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) hosted a sustainability summit at the PENN DISTRICT on adaptive reuse and district-level sustainability. It featured a discussion on how adaptive reuse promotes community improvements, transit upgrades, and open space planning, resulting in healthier, resilient communities.

Members of the Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD) sustainability team spanned out throughout the week to participate in inspiring conversations and make new connections. Suzanne Fallendar, vice president of global impact and sustainability at Prologis, spoke at several events throughout the week. Prologis was included in the newly announced Sustainable Concrete Buyers Alliance, led by RMI and GMA, alongside companies like Amazon and Meta.
Ben Myers, senior vice president of sustainability at BXP (NYSE: BXP) joined a panel at the Transition Risk Lab: From Identification to Pricing, hosted by the CRREM Foundation, where he discussed the REIT perspective on managing transition risk, alongside a panel that included asset manager, institutional investors, and private real estate manager representatives.
Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESRT) hosted an event, Empire State of Efficiency, in the Empire State Building’s new Empire Lounge, where Chairman and CEO Tony Malkin welcomed guests and introduced a lively panel that discussed proven strategies and measuring results from landlord tenant and construction team collaboration.
