Nareit’s REITweek: 2023 Investor Conference took place in New York City on June 6-8. The week kicked off with the seventh annual REIT Investor Relations Symposium at the NYSE Big Board Club. Roughly 2,500 people came together over the course of the week to discuss REITs and REIT-based real estate investments, with 90 REITs and publicly traded real estate companies making investor presentations. Nearly 640 first-timers accounted for 25% of overall attendees.

Panelists at a lunch general session said REITs own top quartile assets and have good access to capital, are attractively priced compared to private real estate, will have a higher equity market capitalization in 12-24 months, are more likely to be involved in public-to-public mergers for the time being, and are in a strong position to capitalize on how ESG investing and trends ultimately develop.

Closing out day two, Nareit’s John Worth, along with Bloomberg Intelligence’s REIT and real estate analysts from the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific, including Jeffrey Langbaum, Lindsay Dutch, Sue Munden, and Patrick Wong, held a discussion addressing key takeaways from the conference and how those trends translate across the globe.
