Investors seeking income found it in the Specialty REITs sector’s 6.22 percent dividend yield – nearly double the dividend yield of the FTSE NAREIT All Equity REITs Index on August 31.
Five other Equity REIT property segments also beat the benchmark index’s dividend yield on August 31. The Lodging/Resorts sector’s yield was 5.11 percent; the Health Care sector delivered a dividend yield of 4.96 percent; the Diversified sector delivered a 4.14 percent yield; Free Standing Retail yielded 3.95 percent; and Timber REITs’ dividend yield was 3.88 percent.
