Aug. 25, 2015 - Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX), left, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, visited the Houston offices of Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT). He met with Keith Oden, president of Camden, and was briefed on Camden’s recent activities and upcoming developments in the Houston area and other sections of the country, including Washington, D.C.

Rep. Tim Murphy visits an office of Crown Castle International Corp. in Pittsburgh.Murphy met with more than 70 Crown Castle employees and addressed issues now pending before Congress that could impact Crown Castle and the REIT industry.

Rep. George Holding of the House Ways and Means Committee meets with REIT executives from Kilroy Realty,Macerich and Public Storage in Los Angeles and received a briefing on the critical issues now facing the industry.

Jim McDermott (D-WA), a senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, visited Alexandria Real Estate Equities' property at 1616 Eastlake Avenue in Seattle. John Cox, senior vice president, regional market director, Seattle (left), gave the Congressman an overview of the investments Alexandria is making in Seattle.

Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.) visited Simon Property Group’s Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City, N.Y. Rice, who is a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, received a briefing on the status of the mall, which is undergoing a major redevelopment.

Rep. John Carney (D-DE) (left) visited Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Carper toured the property, met with several store managers, and greeted constituents. General Manage, Amy Norgate (right) briefed Carney on the economic impact of the property and described the renovation currently underway.

Eric Holcomb (second from left) State Chief of Staff to Sen. Dan Coats (R-IN), who was recently appointed to the Senate Finance Committee, met with executives from several Indianapolis-based REITs to discuss a variety of issues critical to the REIT and publicly-traded real estate industry. Mr. Holcomb was briefed on the current status of REITs based in Indiana and the economic impact these and other REITs provide in communities across the country.
